ScaffShield is a revolutionary anti-tamper locking assembly which reduces the risk of scaffold ties and couplers from being detached from fixed scaffolding, thereby reducing scaffold collapse or failure leading to injury and disruptions.
ScaffShield allows builders and scaffolders to control and protect their scaffold from unauthorised adjustment or removal of components. Having the ScaffShield installed enables a scaffold erection and stripping process to be documented and controlled by the principal contractor and scaffolder.The Scaffshield locking nut is a patented, anti-tamper device installed over the coupler nut, specifically designed to control the adjustment of ties & components.
The ScaffShield device has a free spinning external sleeve to prevent any standard shifting tool from loosening the coupler nut. A custom manufactured key – the Scaffkey (sold separately), is used to install and remove the ScaffShield over the coupler nut. Scaffkey’s are numbered and managed via a tightly controlled register. They are only available to site authorised supervisors and can’t be copied or purchased. Once the Scaffshield has been installed using the Scaffkey, the plastic protective cap is fitted.
